We're having our very first fundraising event this summer! Thanks to the support of our wonderful volunteers and donors, we've been able to accomplish a lot this past year, from tabling at events like the Texas State Veggie Fair and Earth Day Dallas to hosting film screenings at local universities, we've been able to raise a lot of awareness in the Dallas/Fort Worth area about the harp seal hunt and to encourage people to join us in the national Red Lobster boycott.
On Sunday, July 22nd, at 6:00 pm, we'll be hosting a benefit dinner and film screening at Veggie Garden, a vegan restaurant with awesome dishes that even non-vegans will love. We'll be screening Nigel Barker's A Sealed Fate, the Humane Society of the United States-sponsored documentary that follows Barker and HSUS volunteers and staff (including HSUS president Wayne Pacelle) as they travel to the ice in Newfoundland and monitor the horrific killings of thousands of harp seal pups. It's a thought-provoking, tragic film that is guaranteed to move viewers to action.
There will be a scrumptious vegan buffet as well as the opportunity to win door prizes, including a gift certificate for a two-night stay including breakfast at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas!
$15 in advance
$18 at the door.
Note: $5-8 of each ticket will go directly towards to HarpSeals.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works towards a permanent end of the seal massacres in Canada.
